Extinguishes a fire by absorbing heat from a fire similar to the way in which a sponge absorbs liquid. When the very early smoke detector senses a fire, the control panel sounds alarm, shuts down equipment, and activates the FE-13 system. Stored as a liquid in pressurized cylinders, FE-13 flows through a piping network to a discharge nozzle where it is deployed as a gas. In ten seconds or less the protected room reaches a concentration level of FE-13 that will not support combustion.
