GE (EST) Signature Series Detectors
Making the best of true multisensor capability,
Signature detectors continually monitor the
environment with their on-board sensors, each of
which is finely tuned to detect a different characteristic
of combustion. All this information is gathered and run
through a sophisticated algorithm that compares the
sensor readings over time to known signatures of fires.
When the algorithm finds a match, an alarm condition
results. If no match is found, no alarm is sounded.
GE (EST) MC Series Detectors
The MC10 ionization detector responds quickly and reliably to all fire
types, especially fast burning fires fuelled by combustibles such as
oil, spirits, wood and paper. Particles as small as 0.01 microns will
be detected by its sensing element, triggering an alarm even before
visible smoke is apparent.
The MC30U-3 photoelectric (optical) detector responds quickly
and reliably to all fire types, especially slow burning fires fuelled by
combustibles typically found in modern multi-use buildings. Using
sophisticated technology based on light scattering principles,
particles as small as 0.5 microns will be detected by the sensing
element, triggering an alarm at the first sign of smoke.
MC Series heat detectors employ advanced electronic thermistor
technology, making them ideal for a wide range of applications
where smoke detection is inappropriate. The MC20RRU-3 rate-
compensated detector is well suited to areas such as kitchens
and shower rooms, where the ambient temperature is relatively
constant, but where steam and smoke are present. The MC20FTU-
3 fixed-temperature detector is ideal for laundries and industries
where fluctuations in ambient temperature is expected.
